My Music Genre Analysis.

The Genre that i picked is the pop genre I like most people love pop music and that is why i picked it.The list of songs that i think exemplify the genre are Kayne West - Lost In The World, Enrique Iqlesias - I Like It and Kesha - Blow. I think that these 3 songs are nothing alike but are unlike any other music, just the artist themselves are different as in like Kayne West is a darker but very much out of the box. When it comes to Kesha nobody is alike because she has her own style and her music is very up beat and so to say "glitter", it's not everyday that you will see a Zebra in a music video.

The pop genre was founded in the 1920's.
The five influences that shaped the pop genre are:
1. The harmonies from gospel, soul music and instrumentation from Jass, Country, and rock music.
2. In  the 1940's the microphones design had changed in a way that made is at loud a more intimate singing style.
3. Television has helped make the pop genre what it is today by putting it out into the world and show casing what we love today.
4. Pop was greatly affected by the rise of music television channels like MTV, which "favoured those artists such s Michael Jackson, Madonna, and the Prince.
5. Other Countries and States have helped make pop music what it is today because there is a lot of different people that have changed the way that the pop genre has changed.

The artists i think the have contributed to the development of the pop genre are Madonna, Michael Jackson, and the Prince.
I think that Madonna had contributed to the development of the pop genre by creating music no one would have every thunk of, she has taken personal exercises and made beautiful music out of it. Now even knowing that i hate Michael Jackson he has still created the most popular and amazing music that everyone loves, Michael Jackson has contributed to the pop genre by making music that if your sad it will make you happy and makes you dance and forget the world. The Prince has influenced the pop genre by not doing everything the same as everyone else does he goes out of the box. All of these artist having the visual talent that i believe one would need but also the ability of knowing good music.

Six stylistic elements of the pop genre are:
1. All songs are around 3 minutes long.
2. Most have up beat Music.
3. Some have fast singing.
4. Some would say they are talking about love and their life.
5. Most pop artist will dress in a way that not everyone would, everyday.
6. The way they dance.
I would have to say that if you showed me a music video from the pop genre i would look for these 6 stylistic elements and just know that it was a pop genre song.

I think that these two songs Adele - Rolling In The Deep and Tinie Tempah - Written In The Star are similar because they talk about growing up and relationships, family.

Mini-review # 1.
Justin Bieber.

I think that Justin Bieber is just another artist trying to make his way in life at what he does best. Even know I don't like him, I still can see that it's not easy to make it in this career. When i first heard Justin Biebers song baby I thought that he was a pretty good and i like his dancing, it soon came to that time where he was just so over popular and set in his own world that i didn't like him. I think that as he grows up less people (girls) are going to "love" khim as muchas they did before, but he will still be making the millions. I laughed after i had heard that Justin Bieber only gets a 100.00 dollars for "doing" chores a week, i laughed really because he make so much that a 100.00 seem  depressing. It also sounded as if he was upset himself. Like come on I wished I got 100.00 dollars for doing nothing really. I just hope for the best of the kid in his career.


Mini-review # 2.

The Winnebago Man.

Being aloud to watch The Winnebago Man in class I have to say was the best movie ever. Hearing someone that swears more than me out  of school is just extremely amusing as hell. I can see why after hearing things about you swearing for nothing really being funny if your in on it but fo it to be put out into the world and being know as the angriest man on the world would drive me crazy and make me move into the middle of nowhere. He saw this as a way of people making fun of him but in some ways it helped them get, through that hard day of work. So i think in the making of this movie people including Jack had changed they opened their mind into seeing that nobody is prefect, in the process of seeing this Jack started writing. Jack wrote about five things, i think Jack wanted people to care more about the five things than an old man swearing.



Mini-review # 3

Jersey Shore

I think that without seeing Jersey Shore the first time makes me think of how stupid i was only because the drama and drunkenness is funny. I don't see how one  could not watch and say it a bad show because its showing you what not to do. Its not that Friday night movie for your family its a Thursday night for every teen  in the world. Watching people go to work hung over and seeing someone pee behind a bar because they didn't want to walk downstairs to the bathroom is just crazy but that's what we love to see. I don't think i could say anything bad about Jersey Shore because i am a fan and don't find it a bad show anyways. I also think that Vinny, Pauly'd,  Deena, J wow, Mike, Snooki, Ronnie, Sammi are all prefect people for Jersey Shore and wouldn't change a thing.

Mini-review # 4

Rebecca Black.

OK Picking Rebecca Black probably wasn't the best pick because she sucks even more than Justin Bieber does. Rebecca Black's - Friday song is the dumbest song ever it shouldn't have even made it on the charts. I have heard Rebecca  on youtube singing something else and it was pretty good, because they used auto tune it made her sound bad. I will give her some credit on the fact that she hasn't cracked over people making fun of her. Rebecca's song Friday sounds like nails on a chalk board and its the same thing over and over again. Plus i would just like to point out that the people in the car are like what 13 years old and in the end they didn't even go to school. So i am guess she should stop partying and to go school and learn something.

Music Videos

Music videos were created for people to enjoy and watching people sing and dance. I love music videos they show what the song is really about. They help one understand what the song is leading to and showing them if it is a sad or happy song if you can't tell in the song it's self. Some music videos are funny to watch a lot of artist get create of and go crazy like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Some what Adele they all fit the song with the music video so great. Unlike others the spend a lot of money on a music video and it sucks and doesn't fit the song.Music videos are really cool the dancing and video it's self is are sweet.

Create Your Own Reality TV Show

1.Do you have a hook?           

The hook for our reality TV show is that they’re pregnant vampires, they go from going out every night and partying and drinking fresh blood to staying at home and drinking blood from little baggies and running after the little one. Not something they really wanted to do at such a young age but I guess they have to grow up faster than they think. Not really seeing how fast its going to come and go not having the time to party and do 

what ever they wanted to do because they have a little crazy hungry vampire baby.
There babies are all half vampire and half human, therefor they’re a hybrid not so much human but not fully vampire.

2.Who is the focus of the show?

There is people girls that are the real focus of the show but there is a focus on the babies and the “Daddy”.  The three girls one my best friend Val McIntyre, Jamie Spears and Francia Raisa. The cast is a cast that you will get to know over the course of the season, seeing them grow and learn also teach themselves and their baby. Jamie Spears as Violet Rich, Val McIntyre as Avery Soul,  Francia Raisa as Makenzie Glass.

    Violet Rich is a female and is 16 years old and comes from a very high class family, but she doesn’t like her family so she had moved out and has lived on her own for a while now(partying and doing what she was never aloud to do).
Violet was the Really girly girl and had never worn something for longer that a day and never war is again.

    Avery Soul is also a Female and is 19 years old, she comes from a family of just boys but is still that girly girl that could take on anyone. Avery’s parents had been killed so she left her brothers and started living the way her parents wouldn’t have let her. Avery had been that tom boy girl that wasn’t afraid to get dirty.

    Makenzie Glass is a Female and is 18 years old, Makenzie’s background is a very hard to get your head around because she comes from a family that is very large but is very home like. They will stand up for anyone in their family even if they have done bad. She moved out knowing that it was time to get away and start living the way she wanted to. Makenzie being the girl that did want she wanted but still had rules to follow never really cared about what people would say or the faces they would make.

3.What are they going to be doing?
    It is a fly-on-the-wall into the character’s real lives. Teens talk about their lives as a pregnant teen, and how their lives has changed throughout the pregnancy and after the baby is born.

4.Where will this take place? What is the setting? Why is this setting attractive or interesting for your audience? Is it dramatic enough?
This will take place in the girls homes. The setting is very home like and upscale(rich). This setting is attractive and interesting for the audience because they would want to live there. I think that our show is going to be very dramatic because not only are there going to be vampires but they’re going to be pregnant and you don’t get to see that everyday you know.

5.Is there a goal? What happens at the end of the episode or the season? Is there a prize?
    No, there is not a goal. At the end of the season all the girls come together and talk to the host and they find out that the father of the baby’s is the same guy!!! There is no prize the show is just to show teens what it’s like to be pregnant.

6.What will make this show a successful format? How will this show succeed past the first episode? Past the first season? Remember, television stations need to know that their investment is a sound one.                                 
     What makes this show a successful format is that ................ This show will succeed past the first episode because people who will watch the will want to know what happens next. This show will succeed past the first season because when people watch the show every week they will get to like this show.

Citizen Kane Boring or Not Boring??

When you first told us that we were watching a black and white movie, well I felt like it was going to be another nap time. All in all I thought that Citizen Kane was a great movie now I might not rate it like others saying its "THE BEST MOVIE OF ALL TIMES" cause I don’t necessarily like watching any black and white film. Seeing how Kane's mother wanted to have him live somewhere new and becoming of people that would shape his personality and into the man he should have become but didn't. Kane unlike any other person growing up had the chance to really get a good education because he had the money, Kane just didn’t want to learn. Kane knew what he wanted and that was to run his newspaper and be president. Watching this film as like watching a boring movie but yet you just can’t stop watching it, it has it’s own little pull to it. Kane's last wife was the crappiest actor in the whole movie should couldn’t sing and her voice just talking was the worst thing ever!. The only thing I really liked was that it had a pretty good mystery to it, because we didn’t know who or what “rosebud” was. Like I first thought, rosebud was his mother but no it was a sled like who would thunk. Again all in all I thought it was a great movie and I think that everyone should watch it once in their life.

Media Studies Assignment 1.

         I believe that media is very important in my life because I feel like I would need it to live. I feel as media is always going to be part of my life and never going to go out of style. Seeing that I want to be a hairstylist I need to keep up with the new trends and popular out looks and I see that in Music Videos, Movies, Tv Shows. Its just like how I love to watch people and there drama (The Hills) but yet I would hate for this to happen to me. Music I think helps me be myself because you can pick and listen to what ever you want to make yourself, YOU.

         I feel passionate about advertising as a form of media. You always see people on tv and in real life right in front of you and they are like a walking billboard. I like the new ways that people try and advertise things like on a shoes or shirt, or in a Tv Show maybe the tv’s are all Sony and they all have Iphones 4. When you see things like a Sony tv in a music video the people from Sony are paying the artist to have it in their video which is seen by millions of people so it’s a very neat way of adverting. I find advertising very interesting you can see different things and learn a lot.

         I am a Tv lover so I think I am passionate about Tv Shows and to what goes into them all that hard work for just a half hour show. I like how most Tv shows end in with a cliff hanger so that you watch in next week when its on. I love how they do that it makes you want to see more and find out what is going to happen at the end. Even live Tv shows can pull you in the people are always talking about what is new out in the world and I love some good gossip. I also Find that watching Tv can teach you new things like if you like to cook you can watch the Cooking Network like me, or watching the news tells you what maybe happening somewhere else in the world.

         I am very passionate about the internet I am most likely on the computer for 4-5 hours a day just talking to people and looking up new things. You always can find something to do on the internet you could talk, play games, look up how to do things, listen to music. I would have to say that I am a Facebook and Youtube Junkie, even if I don’t update my status ever 2 minutes, I like things (2500 or something like that). So that Is why I am passionate about the internet.

         My thoughts on modern popular technology is I love it. I think I would be pretty bored and I wouldn’t have the friends I have. I think that I would need music to live because if your sad or mad you can listen to some up beat good music and it can make you happier. Now that we have all this new technology and we are always coming up with new things around the world is amazing. I don’t think many of us people today would have been able to live way back In the days with no cell phones, no Tv’s, no computers. Me personally would probably die because I love to be updated a lot and I love to watch new shows on Tv. I don’t think I dislike anything about no technology today. I love the new ways to communicate its better than the old letter and having to wait 1-2 weeks just for a letter, now we have texting and you can do it so easily.

         My favourite tv show would have to be Vampire Dairies. I love not knowing what is going to happen at the end and I love the thrilling feel. Every show is different they don’t always end the same way. I am also a Vampire, Werewolf, person and that is why I am drawn to that show.

         My number one top FAVOURITE movie would have to be Cool Runners. This is my top favourite because I think its funny and when you are stuck watching it from Brantford all the all to Florida you start to like it. This movie in my books will be that funny family movie about a Jamaican bob sledge team. My favourite quote would have to be “What you smoking. I am not smoking I’m breathin’.”.

         My favourite book again would have to be a book with Vampires or Werewolves and no I don’t just mean a Twilight book. I mean a thrilling and intense book with them in it. So it would have to be The House Of Night Series even if they don’t have Werewolves in it. I love how at the end of every book it’s a cliff hanger, you never know how it is going to end. I would have to say its not like any other book. It’s a little dark and it has it’s ups and downs but still a great series of books.
